Bend Dispensary Offering Discounts, Donating Funds On Veterans Day

Bend, Ore. – Oregrown Industries, Oregon’s premier farm-to-table cannabis company, will offer special discounts to veterans at its flagship dispensary in downtown Bend today in honor of Veterans Day, Friday, November 11.

The company will also donate a portion of the day’s sales to veterans organizations, and serve complimentary pizza to all customers Friday evening.

“We are proud to honor those who have put country ahead of self, putting their lives on the line to protect and defend the nation and the ideals that we aspire to,” said Oregrown cofounder Aviv Hadar.

On Friday, veterans with a valid Veterans Health ID or Military ID will receive 15% off their entire purchase.

Oregrown will donate 3% of all Veterans Day sales to the Oregon Veterans Support Fund assisting vets and their families in programs that support the Oregon veteran community.

Oregrown also will donate an additional 3% of the day’s sales to the American Legion. The Legion, the country’s largest veterans organization with more than 2.4 million members, passed a resolution in August calling on the federal government to reschedule cannabis and research its potential for treating post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

Customers who donate $5 or more to either charity will receive 10% off their entire purchase.

Hadar said veterans deserve more research and greater access to medical cannabis.

“We know from research by Israeli Dr. Raphael Mechoulam that marijuana has the potential to provide real benefits to people suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. This is borne out by the experiences tens of thousands of veterans and others who have found relief through medical cannabis,” Hadar said. “We want to promote research here in the United States to validate these experiences and move toward the day when cannabis is readily available to everyone who might benefit from its use.”
