After Short Car Chase Prineville Woman Arrested

Prineville, Ore. – After allegedly stealing a car, then followed by a short police chase, a Prineville woman was arrested early Sunday.

Elizabeth Ann Butler, 28, faces charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangering, attempt to elude and criminal mischief, according to Prineville Police.

In a news release, police said a 2007 Chevy Cobalt had been left running and unlocked near Southeast Mountain View Road a little before 8 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was stolen. At around 12;30 a.m. Sunday, officers located the vehicle near the intersection of Third and Main streets in Prineville. The driver, later identify as Butler, did not yield to police.

Officers pursued Butler for approximately 1.4 miles at speeds of 20 to 45 mph, during which time she allegedly struck a Prineville patrol vehicle and a parked and unoccupied vehicle.
