Report: Mark Wahlberg got “All the Money in the World” for movie re-shoots; co-star Michelle Williams earned less than $1,000

“All the Money in the World” – ©2017 CTMG, Inc.(LOS ANGELES) — Hollywood gender pay gap? More like a gender pay crater.

According to a report from USA Today, Mark Wahlberg was allegedly paid $1.5 million to do re-shoots for All the Money in the World while his co-star Michelle Williams was paid a mere $80 per diem, which totaled less than $1,000. That means she was paid less than 1% of what he earned.

The Ridley Scott drama about billionaire J. Paul Getty was re-shot the week of Thanksgiving after Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey.

In December, Scott told USA Today that they were able to keep costs down for the re-shoot because “everyone did it for nothing.” He said that he and all the actors “came in free” over the Thanksgiving holiday, except for Plummer.  And Williams, a multiple Oscar nominee,  told the publication that she did indeed agree to that.

“I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me,” she said. “And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort.”

But since then, USA Today has learned that Wahlberg’s team negotiated his $1.5 million fee and Williams was not told about it. They are both represented by the William Morris Endeavor agency.

The actors and the studio have yet to comment.

Meanwhile, stars have been speaking out in support of Williams on Twitter, with Amber Tamblyn calling the pay gap “totally unacceptable” and Jessica Chastain saying Williams is a “brilliant” actress who “deserves more.”
