79-year-old man says he used gun on naked Bend burglar, but didn’t fire shots

A 79-year-old man says he used a gun to keep a naked burglar from getting away early yesterday (Mon) morning in Bend, but he didn’t fire any shots.

Former law enforcement officer Jerry Poole says he caught Shelton White breaking into his Nordic Avenue home.

Poole says he tried to shoot White, but his gun wasn’t loaded, so he pistol whipped him instead.

Police quickly arrived and arrested White, who they say was likely intoxicated.
