Bend Police say man vandalized, tried to barricade them in headquarters

Bend Police say man used a board and heavy object to try to barricade them in their headquarters and threatened to burn down the community.

Police say Samuel Dennis also vandalized their property, including damaging a key pad so severely, that it no longer works.

Police eventually located Dennis’s pickup, but say he refused to pull over so a sheriff’s deputy deployed spike strips.

The truck finally stopped on George Millican Road and officers eventually arrested Dennis about 10 hours after the initial incident.
