ALBANY, Ore. — Oregon State Police is investigating yesterday morning’s double cross-over fatal crash on I-5 near north Albany.
Lanes in both directions were closed for several hours.
A passenger car driven by an adult female was northbound on when it traveled across the center median and into the far right southbound lanes.
There, it collided with a commercial truck pulling a trailer.
The truck and trailer then crossed the onto the northbound lanes where it came to rest jackknifed across the northbound lanes.
The car’s driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Lanes were reopened later that afternoon.
