Redmond, Ore. – The Redmond Police Department is investigating a reported shooting which occurred Friday, December 19th, 2014, near Umatilla Park. One reporting person stated they heard as many as 12/13 shots fired.

Officers arrived, spoke with several witnesses and searched the area, later discovering evidence of a firearm being discharged near the intersection of SW Umatilla Ave and SW 30th Street. Evidence was recovered at the scene and will be sent to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

While Officers were investigating this incident, Dispatch received a phone call from a homeowner reporting a bullet had come through their window and landed on the kitchen floor. The residence was on SW Meadow Lane, approximately 900 yards away, to the southeast, of the shooting incident. This is being investigated as being related to the Umatilla Park incident, but confirmation is pending ballistic testing.
