New Evacuation Orders For People Near Canyon Creek Complex

John Day, Ore. More people in the John Day area are told to leave their homes.

Here are the specific evacuation orders:

62 Road North from Forest Boundary to Prairie City on Level 3
Upper Strawberry on Level 3

The south side of Prairie City is a Level 3 (from the John Day River south)

The north side of Prairie City is a Level 2-STANDBY (from the John Day River north)

Evacuees to Mt. Vernon Middle School Parking Lot or Mt. Vernon Grange Hall is a waiting area until the Mt. Vernon Community Hall is open at 4 pm.

New Hazard: Gusty winds and blowing dust are predicted in the area today.
