Woman Flown To Bend Following Accident Near Diamond Lake

A California man was killed in a single-car accident near Diamond Lake Wednesday.

BEND, OR -- Oregon State Police said a man was killed and a woman critically injured after a single car accident near Diamond Lake Wednesday.
Around 2:30 p.m., David Emanuel Youngberg, 85, Long Beach, CA, was westbound on Highway 138 when, for an unknown reason, he left the roadway and crash head on into a tree. Youngberg was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Jeanie Lucille King, 71, San Diego, CA, was critically injured and flown to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
Troopers said both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The investigation into Wednesday's accident is ongoing.
