Wednesday Morning's Market Report
BEND, OR -- Flights continue to be fuller. Alaska Airlines says their flights were 80% full in February up almost 9% from a year ago. Even more importantly revenue per passenger miles is up almost 8%.
Big 5, with a store in Bend, posted a profit of $6.4 million in the 4th quarter, short of Wall Street expectations. The company says they are enjoying positive sales trends in 2010.
Oregon outdoor equipment maker Blount International posted a profit of $56 million in 2009, lead by a 4th quarter sales gain of 10%. The company says the cost cutting and an improving economy is expanding margins.
