Bend Man Has Montana Homicide Charge Dropped
HELENA, MT -- A judge has dismissed a deliberate homicide charge filed against a former Billings minister.
Cary Greenlee, who lives in Bend, was charged in June with the October 1990 shooting death of his wife, Anita, during a hunting trip in southern Montana. The judge ruled that Greenlee could not get a fair trail because possible defense evidence had been lost. The judge went on to say that the state reopened the investigation "for no good reason", and failed to uncover enough evidence to justify the lengthy delay in filing charges.
The order did leave open the possibility that charges could be filed against Greenlee again, if the state found compelling evidence that he was responsible for the death of his wife.
