BEND, OR -- The US Equal Opportunity Commission said they have reached a $2mm settlement agreement with Les Schwab in a gender based hiring lawsuit. The suit alleged that Les Schwab failed to hire qualified women for sales and service starting in 2004. The vp of Human Resources at Les Schwab said that resolving this suit allows Les Schwab to continue its strong focus on supporting their employees so that they can deliver excellent customer service.
The Portland based Albina Community bank has been ordered by the Federal Reserve to boost their capital levels and reduce the nonperforming loans on their books. The Fed has given the bank until June to raise their Tier 1 capital level 30% or risk being taken over.
And Nike founder Phil Knight has dropped from number 52 to number 62 on the Forbes 400 richest people in the world, but don't go feeling bad for him as he is still worth $8.2 billion.
