Jackknifed Semi Slows Traffic North Of La Pine Sunday
BEND, OR -- Deschutes County Sheriff's deputies were called to jackknifed semi truck north of La Pine Sunday afternoon.
Reports said the big rig, driven by Arnold Raymond Grisham, 55, Eagle Point, was northbound on Highway 97 around 4 p.m., when he lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into the shoulder. No injuries were reported in Sunday's crash, but one lane of Highway 97 was closed for about three hours as the semi was recovered. It appears weather was a contributing factor in the crash. Oregon State Police, La Pine Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation all assisted in Sunday's cleanup.
