BEND, OR — The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care & Research will become Central Oregon's first provider in Patient-Centered Community Care, or PC3. The program, established by the Veterans Health Administration was designed to offer specialized health care to eligible veterans, and to ease the increasing burden on VA hospitals across the country. The national network of health care providers can offer eligible veterans with mental health care, limited emergency care, limited care for the newborns of female veterans and inpatient and outpatient specialty care. The Center offers such specialty services, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation.

According to The Portland Business Journal, Nike granted new board member and eBay CEO John Donahoe shares of stock worth $160,000. Nike normally pays its board members around $100,000 a year and grants another $175,000 in annual shares of stock.

MobileRQ reported Wednesday that an initial funding round was expected to $2 million. The Oregonian says the figure from the Portland-based startup included $800,000 the company did not disclose last year. MobileRQ makes software that helps customize smartphone apps.

Microsoft really wants consumers to grab their Surface Pro 3 tablet. The company is offering Macbook Air owners up to $650 to trade in their Apple laptop in favor of the Pro, according to an offer on the Microsoft Store website. The deal is available only to consumers who purchase the device at a Microsoft store in the U.S. or Canada. The offer is valid until July 31st. Microsoft unveiled the lean, 12-inch tablet during an event last month in New York. Prices for the tablet, which features a cover that doubles as a keyboard, start at $799.
