Monkey Business/Thinkstock(BOSTON) — Several people who attended an Avicii concert in Boston on Wednesday night were transported to the hospital, in part because of alcohol and drug issues.
A total of 36 people, between the ages of 16 and 25, were taken to area hospitals. Another 50 were treated at first aid triages at TD Garden and by EMS outside, said Boston EMS Deputy Superintendent Michael Bosse.
Bosse told ABC News, “The overall majority of the patients were suffering from a combination of age, heat and alcohol.”
He added, “There were signs of illicit drugs, including some signs of [the drug] Molly.”
Bosse noted that some concertgoers were intoxicated when they arrived to the venue.
Underage patients, as well as those who displayed symptoms of drug overdose, will be interviewed by detectives.
Boston Police Department Deputy Chief William Gross told ABC News, “We don’t know if the drug cases were Molly, we do know there are signs of some sort of illicit drug.”
