(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — The Columbus Blue Jackets and defenseman Dalton Prout agreed to a two-year extension on Saturday.
Prout, 24, has three goals and 10 assists in 82 career NHL games and was set to be a restricted free agent on Tuesday.
The Blue Jackets selected Prout with the 154th overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft.
Columbus picked up veteran Scott Hartnell in a trade for center R.J. Umberger with the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
