Coast Guard Helps Kayaker Near Cascade Head

NEWPORT, OR – The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a kayaker who capsized along the Oregon Coast this weekend.  Aspokesman said a Newport-based aircrew was doing a patrol just before noon Saturday when they saw the kayaker in the water near Cascade Head.  A Coast Guard rescue swimmer went into the water and the crew was able to hoist the man aboard.  The kayaker was wearing survival gear and was not injured.
