(NEW YORK) — Monday was a mixed bag for Wall Street, with two of the three major indices closing lower than where they began, while still finishing a sixth consecutive quarter of growth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 25.24 on Monday to finish at 16,826.60.
The Nasdaq closed at a 14-year high of 4,408.18, up 10.25 for the day, while the S&P 500, which ended Monday at 1,960.23, down 0.73, still finished up five percent for the quarter.
General Motors recalled more than seven million additional vehicles in the U.S. on Monday, expanding the number of automobiles believed to be at risk of dangerous ignition switch problems. GM also unveiled their plan to compensate the victims of those faulty ignition switches, offering anyone involved in an accident caused by the problem compensation with no upper limit.
