Woman Drowns Trying To Save Dog

WENATCHEE, WA — A woman drowned in the Wenatchee River in Central Washington while trying to save her dog on Monday.

Investigators said Sabra Crafton, 29, Cashmere, WA was throwing a stick out in the water and playing fetch when her dog began to struggle.  Crafton jumped in to help the animal.  A friend told investigators he tried to rescue Crafton after she began struggling in the water.  A kayaker later located Crafton in the river near Cashmere Bridge.

The dog survived Monday’s drowning.
