(NEW YORK) — Barbara Walters has publicly spoken for the first time about the future of The View following the departures of co-hosts Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd last week.
At a New York film premiere, Walters told Extra’s AJ Calloway her thoughts about the show’s future: “I don’t know…I’m not sure. I know The View will continue.”
Walters also admitted, “I don’t think we have a new direction, yet. I think we have time.”
Walters stepped down as co-host of The View in May. She remains an executive producer of the daytime chatfest, which currently has only one co-host in place for next season: Whoopi Goldberg.
