Farm Equipment Pulls Down Crook County Power Pole

PRINEVILLE, OR — Many Crook County residents lost power Tuesday, after a piece of farm equipment pulled down a power pole.  Around 5 p.m., Crook County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Lamonta Rd., between Grimes Rd. and Gerke Rd., where a broken power pole was lying in the street.  Two of the transformers had been broken in the accidentally, cutting nearby power.  Investigators said a man driving a New Holland harrow bed, used for large stacks of hay bales, caught one of the line, breaking the power pole in half.

Both lanes of Lamonta Rd. were closed for about an hour as crews responded.  Power was resorted around 6 p.m.  No citations were issued.
