Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The Buffalo Bills suffered a hit to their defense on Tuesday.  Top linebacker Kiko Alonso is expected to miss the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL injury, reports ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

“We have learned tonight that Kiko Alonso injured his knee while working out in Oregon,” Bills general manager Doug Whaley said in a statement on Tuesday. “We do not have the details at this point, but early indications are that it may be significant.”

Alonso was recovering from hip surgery this offseason.

Alonso won the Defensive Rookie of the Year last season and finished third in combined tackles.

The Bills begin training camp on July 18.
