Bend Man Arrested For Redmond Area Burglaries

070814_david_grossBEND, OR — Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bend man reportedly responsible for several burglaries in the Redmond area.  Deputies were called to SW Obsidian Ave. and Helmoltz Ave. Monday evening, after a homeowner spotted an unknown man near his back door.  Investigators say the suspect, later identified as David Gross, 33, had been inside the victim’s home while an adult son was asleep.  In addition, Gross reportedly broke into two cars parked at the house.  He was arrested, taken to the Deschutes County Jail and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Criminal Trespass, Unlawful Entry into A Motor Vehicle and 3rd Degree Theft.

The Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday evening, deputies were called to Tumalo Reservoir Rd. near OB Riley Rd., where Gross was a suspect in several area cases.  However, Gross was not arrested Sunday because investigators could not link him to any crimes.

Anyone who might have additional information about Gross’ recent criminal activity is asked to call the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office at (541) 388-6655.
