Nets Welcome Lionel Hollins To Brooklyn

Thomas Northcut/Digital Vision(NEW YORK) — The Brooklyn Nets introduced Lionel Hollins as their new head coach on Monday.

The 60-year-old Hollins will take over for Jason Kidd, who left to become the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.

“As one gets older, you never know if this opportunity is going to come around again,” Hollins said. “And to have this opportunity is truly a blessing.”

Previously, Hollins coached the Memphis Grizzlies on three separate occasions: 1999-00, 2004-05, and 2008-2013. His best season came in 2012-13, where he guided them to a 56-26 record and an appearance in the Western Conference Finals. The Grizzlies decided not to renew his contract following the season.
