CLOVERDALE, OR — A commercial truck driver was cited, after the load of lumber he was hauling spilled onto Highway 101 north of Cloverdale Wednesday morning. Oregon State Police troopers said Guy Hollis Jr., 51, Tillamook, was southbound shortly before 4:30 a.m., when he left the roadway. The big rig hit an embankment, detaching the trailer. The lumber spilled onto the Highway, forcing single lane closures for several hours.
Hollis was not injured in Wednesday’s accident but he was cited for Careless Driving. Highway 101 reopened before noon.
