Crews Called To Broken Gas Line At Broken Top

BEND, OR — Emergency crews were call to Broken Top Thursday morning, after a natural gas line was cut.  Bend firefighters closed off the area around Green Lakes Loop shortly after 8 a.m., allowing Cascade Natural Gas crews to shut down the line and stop the blowing gas.  No nearby homes were evacuated Thursday morning.

Investigators said a contractor struck the 1″ supply line while working.  Bend Fire reminds all Central Oregonians to call before you dig.  Call 811, or visit Call 811’s Website, before and projects to know where all underground utilities are located.
