BGCCO Split “About Being Local”

bgcco van StockBEND, OR — Last month, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Oregon announced the organization would split into two separate groups.  One would cover the greater Bend area, while the second would cover Redmond and Terrebonne.  Jim Schell, current BGCCO Chairman told KBNW News by operating independently, the two local groups can better focus on meeting local needs.

“In the past, the Boys and Girls Clubs has been perceived as Bend based.  And now, Redmond will have its own Boys and Girls club, and Bend will have its own, and the two will be working partners, but, absolutely, the products and service are going to increase.”

Schell added the change will take place September 1st.  Until then, he says, no programs or service will change.
