PRINEVILLE, OR — Highways 126 and 26 near Prineville are getting a facelift. Crews will soon begin repairs to extensive cracking and rutting to the crucial thoroughfare. The highways are important freight and local commuter routes.
“They’re going to repave approximately 3.4 miles of Oregon 126 from Grass Butte to Rimrock Road, which is at the bottom of the Prineville grade,” ODOT’s Ann Fisher told KBNW News. “They will also be repaving approximately one and a half miles of U.S. 26 in Prineville – just north of the junction of 126.”
Fisher said the majority of the work is expected to be finished in August.
