BEND, OR — The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who successfully ran from a work crew detail Sunday evening. Investigators said around 6:30 p.m., Keith Allen Schmidtke, 38, ran from the Work Center on Bend’s northside, scaled a fence and disappeared. Nearby homes and businesses were searched with no success.
Schmidtke is a black male, 6’1”, 180 pounds, medium build with black hair and brown eyes. He was serving 120 days for Identity Theft, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle. Anyone with information on Schmidtke’s whereabouts is asked to call the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office at (541) 693-6911.
