Waterman Complex Passes 11K Acres; Now 60% Contained

072114 Waterman ComplexPRINEVILLE, OR — The Waterman Complex burning between Mitchell and Spray has now burned 11,334 acres.  The trio of lightning-sparked fires, the Bailey Butte Fire, The Toney Butte Fire and the Junction Springs Fire, is now 60% contained.

Over the weekend, the Level Three Evacuation Notice for the Marks Creek and West Branch areas were downgraded to Level Two.  Several nearby roads as well as Highway 26 remains closed Monday morning because of the size of the fires.  Also, the Ochoco National Forest has closed several trails and campgrounds in the area due to safety concerns.
