Bomb Threat Cancels Salem Prison Visiting Hours

SALEM, OR — The Oregon State Correctional Institution canceled Thursday afternoon visiting hours after receiving a bomb threat.  Department of Corrections officials said the threat came around 10 a.m.  The facility was searched, and no bombs were found.  Normal operations are expected to resume Friday.

The Oregon State Police is handling the investigation.  No other details have been provided.
