Feds Issue Environmental Review Of Proposed Pipeline

SALEM, OR — Federal regulators said they will issue an environmental review early next year on the proposed pipeline across southwestern Oregon to carry natural gas from Wyoming.  February 27th, 2015 is the date for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s final environmental impact statement for the proposed pipeline.  Conservation groups have been fighting the Jordan Cove Liquefaction and Pacific Connector pipeline projects, arguing it will amount to a continuous clearcut that threatens forests, salmon, water quality and wildlife.

The proposed pipeline will carry natural gas from Wyoming to the Port of Coos Bay for export to Asia. The potential route passes through Klamath, Jackson, Douglas and Coos counties.
