George Clooney's Fiancée to Investigate Gaza War Crimes for UN

Karwai Tang/WireImage(GENEVA) — George Clooney’s fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, has been appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council to investigate allegations of war crimes in Gaza.

The 36-year-old lawyer, along with two others — Doudou Diène and William Schabas — will serve on a commission of inquiry.

The trio will be tasked with investigating “all violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, particularly in the occupied Gaza Strip, in the context of the military operations conducted since 13 June 2014,” the U.N. said in statement Monday.
