Lightning Strikes Hit Central Oregon

BEND, OR — According to fire officials, Central Oregon received approximately 1,200 lightning strikes this over the weekend prior to Sunday evening’s storm.  Several new smoke reports were spotted along the crest of the Cascades approximately four miles east of Waldo Lake.  Smokejumpers were sent to the area late Sunday evening.

As of Monday morning, none of those starts had become wildfires.

Annual Rhubarb Festival

This event started in La Pine at L & S Gardens. Upon the retirement of Linda she graciously passed the event on to the La Pine Senior Activity Center.  Each year the community, gathers with everything Rhubarb.
