Prineville Boy Bitten By Rattlesnake, Flown To Portland Hospital

Prineville.Boy.BittenPRINEVILLE, OR — A ten-year-old Prineville boy was flown to a Portland-area hospital after a rattlesnake bit him over the weekend.  Eithen was playing with family and friends at Prineville Reservoir when a toy car fell between two rocks.  When Eithen reached in, he said he felt a sharp pain and knew a snake had bitten him.  His parents called 911, a helicopter was called in, and Eithen was flown to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.  From there, Eithen was flown to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital where he received the needed treatment.

And the young boy is doing much better.  He was on his feet and enjoying chocolate cake after being discharged Monday afternoon.
