Red Cross: Local Donations Help Central Oregonians

Red Cross in Bend StockBEND, OR — This time of year can be crazy for Central Oregon families; school, sports, clubs, work and much more.  But, the Red Cross is reminding you that the need for blood is constant year round.  Jen Shaw with the Oregon Mountain River chapter in Bend said on average, they distribute 500 to 600 pints of blood across Central Oregon each week.  And local donations help your neighbors in need.”

You know that your blood is going somewhere that is changing somebody’s life and the lives of those around them.”

Shaw added a stable blood supply is central to ensuring patient needs are met in emergencies.

Annual Rhubarb Festival

This event started in La Pine at L & S Gardens. Upon the retirement of Linda she graciously passed the event on to the La Pine Senior Activity Center.  Each year the community, gathers with everything Rhubarb.
