The latest contribution is worth about $10 million, bringing the total U.S. spending to $100 million in response to the Ebola outbreak. America is also committed to working with the rest of the international community to reign in the disease, which has thus far spread to four nations in West Africa.

The deployment of health workers includes approximately 25 doctors, 45 nurses and other personnel to help manage Ebola treatment units.

“The U.S. is committed to supporting the African Union’s response to the urgent needs across West Africa as a result of this vicious disease,” said USAID Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah.
