The estranged husband of a woman police say shot and killed another woman asked a judge to keep her away from guns.
Police say Joanna Kasner shot and killed Valerie Peterson off of McGrath Road north of Bend on Wednesday.
KTVZ reports Kasner’s estranged husband recently filed for divorced, obtained a restraining order and asked a judge to ban Kasner from possessing firearms.
The judge denied the request.
Peterson’s sister tells KTVZ Peterson was walking her dogs when she killed.
Kasner has been railing against police in rambling recent Facebook posts.
