(KBNW News) – Redmond Fire Department, along with Cascade Natural Gas are on the scene of a gas leak at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.

A strong odor was reported around 8:30 Tuesday morning. KBNW News spoke with Fairgrounds officials Tuesday morning and they say the leak is isolated to the North Sister building.

According to the Redmond Airport flight tracker, a number of arriving flights were diverted to Portland, and on the departure side, a couple of the 10 a.m. flights have been delayed.

The gas leak however was not the reason for any of these flight changes.

As of 10:30 a.m., crews were still on the scene. Traffic is not impacted in the area. No word yet on when the gas line will be fixed. Stay with KBNW News and MyCentralOregon.com for updates.
