On Friday (03-15-19), shortly after 8:30 p.m., Madras Police were dispatched to St. Charles Hospital on a report of a gunshot victim who had arrived by car. When officers arrived, it was learned that Cody Wallulatum, a Madras resident, was the victim and was deceased. The Central Oregon Major Crime Team was activated.
Based on statements and information known by police, it was determined a residence on SE 8th Street was where the shooting had occurred. Several search warrants have been obtained and served in order to further the investigation.
A person of interest was identified and it was determined that this individual may have fled to the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. In the attempt to locate this person and other individuals with knowledge of the incident that were believed to be in the jurisdiction of Warm Springs, Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were asked to assist in the investigation and are doing so.
Because of the on-going investigation, no other information will be released at this time.
