On September 7, 2020 at approximately 11:12 p.m., Deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a call involving a tree falling on an individual in the Ochoco National Forest. The individual was
located by friends and found to be already deceased upon being located.
The identity of the deceased individual will not be released at this time pending the notification of the next of
kin. No other people involved were injured. The investigation found the death to be an accident.
The Crook County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Crook County Fire and Rescue.
