Weekly Construction Update Week of Oct. 26-30, 2020

The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. ODOT invests in Oregon’s future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located witin ODOT’s Region 4 encompassing Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

All work is dependent on weather conditions, and schedules are subject to change.

Clackamas/Hood River counties

US26: Timberline Hwy.-OR 35 (MP54.2 – MP70.2) Sign placements, stand up of multipost breakaway supports. Single lane closures with flagging and shoulder closures expected from MP 54 – MP 71 on US26/OR35.

Deschutes County

U.S. 97: S Century Drive to USFS border (MP 153.11-MP 156.26) High Desert Aggregate and Paving will be performing survey work and logging operations in order to clear trees for the new northbound highway alignment during the daytime. There may be periodic lane closures on U.S. 97 utilizing lane shifts or flaggers. One travel lane of Vandevert Road may be closed periodically using flaggers throughout the day. Delays of up to 20 minutes are possible.

Gilliam County

I-84 Swanson Canyon – Arlington project, Columbia River Highway (MP 125.5 – MP 137.78) This project has been completed.

Hood River/Sherman counties

I-84 Hood River, I-84 Rufus & U.S. 97 Biggs Jct. VMS Project, Columbia River and Sherman highways (I-84 EB MP 63.04/ I-84 WB MP100.5 / U.S. 97 SB MP 0.06). No work on this project planned this week.

Hood River  County

Eastbound & Westbound Bridges project, Columbia River Highway (MP 63.9 –MP64.42).) Work is in Stage 2 construction configuration, with an EB B-Lane closure for length of project and both WB lanes shifted. Removal of concrete cure, paving, nosing and pipe work occurring this week.

Jefferson County

Willowdale – Madras (MP 75.14-M.P.91.58)High Desert Aggregate and Paving  will be performing guardrail work during daytime hours throughout the work zone utilizing single lane closures controlled by flaggers and automated flaggers. Striping operations will occur during nighttime hours from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. using single lane closures using flaggers and automated flaggers beginning Sunday night. Delays of up to 20 minutes are possible for daytime and nighttime operations.

Klamath County

US97: Passing Lanes Project (MP180.06 – MP 182.86) Project is complete and no traffic delays expected.

US97: Midland Hwy. – California Highway (MP 280.51-MP 291.71) The project is complete and no delays are expected.

OR 140: Olene – MP 15.35, Klamath Falls/Lakeview Highway. This project is complete and no traffic delays expected.

OR39: Crest St. – Madison St. (MP 2.99 to MP 4.26). Survey and utility work is scheduled during the day Monday through Friday. Expect minor delays.

OR39: Klamath Falls /Lakeview Jct. (MP 0.12 – MP 6.28, Malin Highway) Guard rail and cleanup work is scheduled during the day Monday through Friday. Expect minor delays.

OR31: EAC pavement overlay ( MP 47.9-MP61, Fremont Highway) This project is complete.

Lake County

US395: Cogswell Creek and Crooked River culverts project, Freemont Highway (MP 130.40 & MP 152.26 and MP 230.58 & MP 152.45) Striping, seeding, shoulder, and clean-up work is scheduled for Monday through Friday. Expect minor delays.

Sherman County

US 97: Spanish Hollow Creek & Trout Creek bridges project (M.P. 0.27 – M.P 6.98) ) Active work sites are between MP 2 and MP 7 on U.S. 97, with lane closures occurring for guardrail work, while off roadway work consists of concrete repairs, regrading of ditch and end of week expected removal of temp signs. In addition, trucks will occasionally be entering and leaving from access points along shoulder.
