Bend House Fire Was “Intentionally Caused”

Bend Fire Department responded to a house fire at NE Olney and NE 6th St early Tuesday morning. The first arriving crews found smoke coming from the roof and a fire inside the house. The road was shut down while crews extinguished the blaze. No one was home at the time. The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damages to the home and contents later identified as 575 NE Olney Ave.

Police and fire investigators worked to determine the cause throughout the rest of the day Tuesday and into Wednesday afternoon. The fire has been determined to be intentionally caused. The case is on going and active. Bend Police, Bend Fire and Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation.
