A new research study about physical activity is taking place at Redmond Library, in partnership with the OHSU School of Nursing. The purpose of this research study is to learn more about what makes a group-based walking program effective for people who live in rural towns. The Deschutes Public Library is recruiting up to 20 individuals to participate in a walking program called Step It Up!

If you join the study you will participate in a weekly 1-hour walking group for two years. Walking Groups will meet near the library. Participants will receive a group t-shirt and FitBit. The study will start in spring 2023 and end in spring 2025.

Interested individuals can call or text 541-617-7092 to see if they are eligible.
