Big Ten baseball comes to Central Oregon for the first time this Saturday, October 3, as the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies meet at Historic Vince Genna Stadium in the inaugural Northwest Elite Collegiate Classic presented by Thomas Family Auto Group.
First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m., with gates opening at 11:00 a.m.
The Ducks Baseball team will be striving for their record-breaking seventh straight NCAA appearance this coming season after finishing last season ranked as high as 11th after defeating Oregon State in the NCAA Regional Final in Eugene at PK Park.
Adding to Saturday’s festivities, legendary former Oregon head football coach and College Football Hall of Famer Mike Bellotti will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. And with the Oregon football team off this weekend, fans in Central Oregon will also get a special visit from the World Famous Oregon Duck, who will be appearing before and throughout the game.
The matchup brings two longtime Pacific Northwest rivals and Big Ten baseball programs together for their first meeting in Bend. The inaugural Collegiate Classic is also made possible by these founding partners: Carl’s Jr, Quickway Market, VP Racing Fuels and Myrmo and Sons.
Tickets are going fast, so fans are encouraged to secure their seats now online at www.bendelks.com.
