The Mountain View Cadet Corps has been invited to participate in the National Memorial Day Parade in May of 2026 in Washington DC.

“We are taking 45 students who will march down Constitution Avenue and are funding 25 percent of the trip’s cost themselves,” according to the non-profit. “We are fundraising the remainder, $1,500 per person, in a two-week blitz from November 1-14. Our hope is to raise $60,000. We have a matching grant from an anonymous donor for $25,000. We’ looking for businesses and individuals who would be willing to help our students represent Central Oregon in Washington on Memorial Day.

The Mountain View High School Cadet Corps has been serving Community of Bend for over 30 years as a citizenship and leadership development program. Student-led and self-funded, the Cadet Corps serves Central Oregon’s non-profit organizations, state parks, color guards, and veterans’ groups with over 2,000 hours of community service per year.
