Redmond Police Release Suspect’s Name In Big T’s Shooting

Redmond, Ore. – On Sunday, November 23rd, 2014, at approximately 01:38am, Officers from the Redmond Police Department responded to Big T’s for a shots fired call. Officers arriving at the scene located two injured persons and rendered aid until medics arrived.

One person was injured when a firearm discharged, the other was injured as a result of broken glass. During the course of the investigation it was learned an altercation took place between people known to each other. The dispute reportedly involved money owed over an old debt. During the altercation a firearm believed to be in the possession of Miguel Estrada was fired. It is believed, at this time, the firearm was discharged unintentionally during the altercation. As a result, one of the victims sustained a gunshot wound to neck. The injury was non-life threatening. The victim was treated at St Charles Medical Center – Redmond and later released.

Miguel Estrada was interviewed by Detectives and ultimately transported to and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for the following crimes: Unlawful Possession of Cocaine, Unlawful Delivery of Cocaine, Unlawful Manufacture of Cocaine, Supplying Contraband, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Assault in t he Fourth Degree, Attempted Assault in the Fourth Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree and two counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

This case is still under investigation.
