Stacey Forson Named To Head Ochoco National Forest

Prineville, Ore. – The U.S. Forest Service announced Friday the selection of Stacey Forson as the new forest supervisor of the Ochoco National Forest and Crooked River National Grassland.

Forson said in a news release that she is looking forward to her new role and the move to Prineville, location of the forest headquarters.

“I am excited to get to know and work with the Ochoco National Forest employees and community members of Prineville,” said Forson. “I love the outdoors, and the Central Oregon area has so much to offer.”

Forson has more than 25 years of Forest Service experience and has held a variety of positions and assignments including civil engineering technician, wilderness and trails supervisor, grant writer, recreation planner, interdisciplinary team leader and natural resources staff, according to the news release. She is currently the recreation, lands and heritage staff officer for the Siuslaw National Forest in Corvallis and will begin her new role in Prineville on Jan. 12.
