$5000 Reward Offered In Crook County In Connection With Drained Reservoir

Prineville, Ore. – In the worst drought years in decades authorities are looking for the person or people responsible for letting water out of a local reservoir.

The private landowner is offering the $5000 reward. Crook County authorities say last month damage was done to the Peterson Creek Reservoir east of Big Summit Prairie. Because of the damage about 75 percent of it was drained before the problem was discovered.

“In a year like this, with low water levels, every bit is a valuable resource,” Sergeant James Savage said in a news release.
