Seattle, Wa. – The IRS is reminding tax exempt organizations that many of them have a May 15 filing deadline for their 2014 Form 990 information returns.
The IRS is also cautioning these groups not to include Social Security numbers (SSNs) or other unneeded personal information on their Form 990.
By law, organizations that fail to file annual reports for three consecutive years will lose their federal tax exempt status. Churches and church-related organizations are not required to file annual reports.
